12 Days of Anime: Top 12 “Worst” Animes of 2018

I already made a list for the best animes of 2018. This time, I’ll be sharing to you the opposite, my Top 12 “Worst” Animes of 2018.

This is just based on my own opinion and there is a chance I might clash with someone else’s opinion. I mean, it can’t be helped if I find the anime trash and really bad. I tried to give them some chances, but they are not my cup of TEA. I can only handle enough mediocre animes. LOL.

This list would undergo the same mechanics as the Best list to finalize the ranking of the worst animes of 2018.

Oohoohohhoohho. This is going to be fun. XD

Märchen Mädchen
Pop Team Epic
Hakyuu Houshin Engi

I didn’t have a hard time choosing which ones are bad in this season because I detest these 3 after watching them. Believe it or not, I actually watched all the episodes of these animes. I actually wasted alot of time and HD space for them, and in the end, they were all trash. You guys might be thinking why PTE is in the list, well, cuz I’m not a fan of it. I tried to watch it to be “in” the trend, but its not appealing to me. Both Marchen Madchen and Hakyuu Houshin Engi had potential but they just thrown everything out of the rug and destroy their own potential. It really sucks cuz I was hoping for these two to atleast be decent in the long run, but WTF. Of course they won’t be.

Butlers: Chitose Momotose Monogatari
Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi

I haven’t seen much of the animes in this season, but these 3 stood out as the worst among them. I immediately dropped these animes after watching the first 3-5 episodes because I felt all of them are not worthy of my time.

Yume Oukoku to Nemureru 100-nin no Ouji-sama
Lord of Vermillion: Guren no Ou

This season was full of mediocre animes. Mediocre but okay and bearable. Still, there were animes that I just couldn’t stand.I didn’t expect I would get animes that are alot worse than the ones released last Winter. 2 of those were Senjuushi and Yume oukoku to nemureru 100-nin no Ouji-sama. These two are an abomination. Their premise is clearly for the female audience, but the execution were really really REALLY horrible. As a female, I was not enticed to watch these 2 bad animes. FOr Lord of Vermillion, its actually alot better compared to the other 2, but alot worse if compared to the other animes released in Summer. The animation looked cheap and bad executed and the premise wasn’t fully explained or wasn’t appealing for me to stay and watch the whole damn thing.

FALL 2018

Ore ga Suki nano wa Imouto dakedo Imouto ja Nai.jpg

Ore ga Suki nano wa Imouto dakedo Imouto ja Nai
Gakuen Basara

*facepalms* And I thought Summer had the worst animes.

I can’t believe this. The level of the trashness in this season is incredibly high, especially after I had seen Conception and Ore ga suki nano wa imouto dakedo Imouto ja nai. Both of them have the worst art and animation for this year, and also they wasted some really interesting premises. WTF!

Well, for Gakuen Basara…It was really disappointing. I was expecting it to like it but….UUuugghhh. I had seen the Sengoku Basara series before and I fairly enjoyed them, but seeing them in a highschool setting is totally not right. They tried to executed the level of exaggeration of Basara series to this new anime and its totally not working.

I know that these animes are still airing, but they are already sticking like a sore thumb above other animes so I can’t help but included them in this list.

Now, after knowing the top 3 worst animes easch seaosn, its time for me to rank them in the top 12. Oh boii, this is going to be a hard one.

12. Gakuen Basara

11. Butlers: Chitose Momotose Monogatari

10. Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi

09. Lord of Vermillion: Guren no Ou

08. Caligula

07. Pop Team Epic

06. Märchen Mädchen

05. Yume Oukoku to Nemureru 100-nin no Ouji-sama

04. Senjuushi

03. Ore ga Suki nano wa Imouto dakedo Imouto ja Nai

02. Hakyuu Houshin Engi

01. Conception

Phew…compared to the best list, this one was really hard to rank. Alot of the entries are super bad that they deserve the 1st place, but ultimately, the top spot goes to Conception. I think its a factor that its still airing now, hence, its still fresh in my mind. Ah! You might be wondering why Hakyuu Houshin Engi is at the 2nd place. Well, out of all the animes in the list, it was this anime where I actually invested alot of time and thoughts to, and everything came crashing down. So yeah, my hatred for it is quite big. Hahaha. I assure you my bitter feelings for it will be deminished by next year, but for now, I’ll savor this until the end of the year. XD

Feel free to share your thoughts down below about my “worst anime” list. Also share to me your own list, me also want to know all of yours too.

Anyway, that’s it for now.

Thanks for reading.

Hello! Project Song Ranking (1st Half 2018)

Hello Everyone!!

Even though I announced before that I’ll refrain from posting anything other than anime-related content, I just can’t help it. I had always dreamed on making this entry even before having a blog. Before when my iPOD was still alive, I make a playlist of all the amazing songs (KPOP, JPOP and Western, respectively) released in the first half then 2nd half of the year. I just love making rankings and top lists, bruh. That’s why right now, I’m going to make one. Heh.

As you can see from the title the list will be composed of the best songs released by Hello! Project this year. Why Hello! project you say? Well, cuz compared to KPOP, Western music & other JPOP acts, I was more updated to Hello! Project music (if you’ve been a follower to my blog, you’ll know XD).

All of the debuted groups of Hello! Project (except the ‘sub-unit’ Country Girls, sigh) released atleast one single in the first half of 2018, so I am going to rank them from worst to best. Oooohohohohoh, this is going to be fun.

15. Shurenka – Tsubaki Factory

Even after months of listening to this, Shurenka is still my least Hello! Project song for this year. The song is not exciting, its also forgettable. Even though my bias, Kiki, got some spotlight in their live performance, it didn’t affect what I feel about this song.

14. Naite Ii yo – Juice=Juice

This song is nice to listen to, but its quite forgettable. I do like the message of the song though.

13. Morning Coffee (20th Anniversary Ver.) – Morning Musume.

You might be wondering why this one is included. This song, alongside Hanasaku, were released as a digital singles before the mini-album was released. That’s why both songs are included in this list as singles. Moving on, Morning Coffee (20th Anniversary Ver.) that was sung by the 1st gen and the current members of Morning Musume.’18 was really nice and nostalgic. Its rock and fast beat was refreshing, but its underwhelming and repetitive. I mean, I had listened to the original song for a hundredth time already, listened to the Miso soup version for quite awhile now and now this, its too much.

12. Kimi Dake janai sa…friends (Acoustic version) – ANGERME

I like Kimi dake janai sa…friends (acoustic ver.). The rawness of the vocals and its amazing arrangement soothes my ears. But at the same time, those are also the reasons why they rank low. This version is quite mellow and slow compared to the original version. And I freakin’ love the original version. So rather than listening to this one, I prefer listening to the original.

11. Ashita Tenki ni Naare – Kobushi Factory

Now this one is a surprise. I liked this song over the main song in the single Its because of the amazing vocals and especially the instrumentals. Everything is changed now. The thing that was lacking in this song was the impact of their live performance. The lackluster dance and mic stand didn’t help at all. I wanted more. Cuz their live performance wasn’t that memorable, the song itself became less appealing.

10. I Need You ~ Yozora no Kanransha ~ – Tsubaki Factory

This song is refreshing, no matter how many times I listen to it. Even their performance was refreshing. My only problem of this song would be that punch of awesomeness. i mean, I could listen to this on certain times, but it doesn’t deliver on other times. Just me and my taste and mood swings. Lel.

09. A gonna – Morning Musume.’18

When this MM’s single was released, I really thought that the songs would be on the last place, cuz I couldn’t stand them. But damn, I got hooked after listening to it a couple of times. A gonna was definitely a surprise. The chorus was hella catchy and Sakura’s solo part is uh-mazing. The dance break is also interesting, but the overall song is underwhelming. There’s no climax where I could bang my head or go wild on.

08. Vivid Midnight – Juice=Juice

One word: FUN. The song is really fun to listen o. Listening to it makes me want to dance to random actions I didn’t know I have. LOL. Vivid Midnight was a song I didn’t know I need to brighten up my day.

07. Hana ga Saku Taiyou no Abite – Morning Musume.’18

HatachinoMorningMusume-r (1)

The intro dance break always hit me. It sounds so amazing. It immediately make me remember the amazing choreography of Morning Musume.’18. It was that memorable. The chorus gets stuck on my head as well. Even though this song is abit simple and lacks climax, its still very memorable cuz of how the members performed it on stage. There performance impacted me greatly.

06. SEXY SEXY – Juice=Juice

I didn’t expect I would like this song this much. I can’t really point out what made me like this one over Vivid Midnight. Maybe cuz the refrain is quite addicting, or the chorus’ amazing melody, or maybe cuz my baby Yanamin is the center (lol). I really don’t know. I…just love this song.

05. Teion Yakedo – Tsubaki Factory

Ooohohohohoho, I think I already shared during my music review of its single how much I love this song. Its so dramatic and my jam. I had also listened to this song since late last year, which is a huge plus. I mean, I had liked this song for a long time ( I even memorize the lyrics…lol). Their live performance of this song is also amazing. Tsubaki Factory is definitely becoming an amazing group.

04. Kore Kara da! – Kobushi Factory

When I first heard this song, I like the song but not as much as the other one, Ashita Tenki ni Naare. But damn, the more I listened to this song, Kore kara da!, the more I feel the passion of the members singing. There was something about this song that made me crave to see it’s live performance. And bruh, the live performance of this song is so AMAZING. It almost made me want to cry watching them perform. It wasn’t just the song’s message, but how the Kobushi Factory delivered the song. I’m so happy to be a fan of this group.

03. Uraha=Lover – ANGERME

When the ANGERME’s latest single was released, this song became my favorite. Not only that this song got a really aesthetic MV, but because the song itself is really good. Listening to the song feels like I’m watching a drama or something. Its melody is so easy to listen to and the arrangement of the song is really remarkable. The vocals of the members were really on point too. I had seen only one live of this song, and I desparately want to see more.

02. Are you Happy? – Morning Musume.’18

Oooohohohoho Surprise Surprise. Didn’t expect Are you happy? would be 2nd place, I didn’t expect it too. LOL. When I first heard this song, I didn’t like this one at all. But shocks, the live performance saved this song. I mean, I knew that this song would do well in lives, but I didn’t expect the impact of their live performance. This really pumps the crowd, even me, who was just watching the performance. I am so sorry for doubting this song. I’m so sorry Tsunku-sama for doubting you. This song is UH-MAAZZZIIINNNNGGG.

01. Nakenai ze・・・Kyoukan Sagi – ANGERME

Ooohohohohoho, another surprise here. I didn’t expect to love this song and even declare it as the best Hello! project song released in the first half of 2018. Nakenai ze…Kyoukan Sagi is a fun, upbeat song with a “I don’t give a f*ck” type of lyrics. I LOVE IT. ANGERME’s live performance of this song wowed me on so many levels, which prompt me to love this song more and more. Their performance is full of energy and you can tell the members are having fun with the slick choreography. I never knew I would make this sentence but bruh, this song is definitely better than their other EDM songs. IT’S THAT GOOOOOOOODDDDDD. Eargasms overload!!! oooohohohohoh!!

Now that was interesting. XD

This year is Hello! Project’s 20th Anniversary so there’s definitely more amazing releases later this year. Ooohohohohohooh.

This is just the Hello! Project song rankings, it would be nice if I could make for KPOP, Western or OPM too. But due to time constraint and lack of resources, I’m gonna put that idea aside for awhile.

I’m still not sure if I’m going to make more non-anime related content in the future. It will just depends my mood, motivation, and time.

Anyway, that’s it for now.

My Deadly Top 7: My Current Favorite Japanese Films

Hello, everyone!!

I have another new feature here (I keep introducing a new one these days….shheeezzzz). If you guys can still remember, I posted a top 10 list earlier this month ( or was it last April?). I vaguely mention that I want to keep on doing the top list thingy, but with lesser number (10 is quite alot and very very common). 5 is too short for me, so I am settling with 7. Fight me.

Moving on.

To start off this new feature, let me give you some info about my taste in movies. I recently posted a Movie review about a live-action Japanese Film, so I think its a bit appropriate if I will share my current top favorite Japanese Films too. Heheheheheh.

Oh. Let me remind you that these are all my opinion and my taste only. I haven’t watched alot of japanese movies compared to jdoramas so my knowledge is limited.

I won’t drag this any longer, here’s my top 7: (in no particular order)

I love this movie. Its a story about a normal average guy and a woman cyborg. It has everything in it. Its really funny, it also has romance and a some action (there is a cyborg…so yeah). Watching this movie made me realize how awesome Japanese Films are. I never thought someone would even thought of this kind of plot in the first place. Its very intriguing and interesting. And bruh, that twist in the end. One word, Mind-boggling!!

Another thing that made this movie really special is the fact that this movie introduced me to the lovely Haruka Ayase, one of my all time Favorite Japanese Actresses. She portrayed her character really well, I actually went hunting for more of her works. She is that good.

I think its impossible to be a fan of the Japanese Films if you haven’t seen at least one novel/manga adapted tear-jerking, heart-wrenching movie. I admit, I had a hard time choosing this movie over Koizora, cuz bruh, I was a crying mess while watching the latter too. Ultimately I choose ‘I give my First Love to you’ because I love the story more and I wasn’t able to move on immediately after watching it. Their love story was both sweet & heatbreaking.

Ooohohoohoohoh. My love for this movie is a bit biased. My favorite Japanese boyband, NEWS, has a member who is a certified novelist. During the hiatus of the group, Shigeaki Kato created this masterpiece, Pink & Gray. Since then, I had always wanted to read the book (I’m still trying to obtain a copy). It became a best-seller in Japan, hence, the live-action.

Pink & Gray gave us a story of 2 close friends who aimed to become actors, one successful & the other one, not so much. What made me love this movie is how it mixed different genres which left me speechless. I also love how psychologically intriguing this movie was. I never expected this movie to be both straightforward and complicated. I also liked that it exposed the dark side of fame. Its….uuuggghhh…I just love this movie.

When I saw the trailer of this movie few years ago, I already know that I am going to like this movie. Not because one of bae is starring (Nino is ❤ ), but because of the plot. At that time, I really dunno what Gantz was. I didn’t even know its originally a manga and there was an anime adaptation of it, and I am thankful for that. My impressions didn’t waver and was not corrupted by the thought, ‘eehhhh…the manga/anime is better…”.

Why do I like this movie? It has everything I love. Action, romance, drama, thought provoking, amazing acting, amazing cinematography and especially, gore. All of those, I could find in here in this franchise. The scene that hit me the most was the end of the 2nd movie. It hit me right in the feels, I cried my eye-balls out. Even rewatching, its still has that effect. I really love this franchise.

I first saw a glimpse of this movie through a trailer during the Eigasai Japanese Movie Festival here in my place. I immediately got intrigued, cuz of the interesting plot and more cuz of the actresses starring in the movie. Its rare to see 4 of my favorite actresses in one movie. This is a must watch movie in my book.

The movie was moving, warm and deep. The interaction between the siblings were too real and I can relate to the sisterly love (I have a sister too). From the cinamotgraphy to the feel of the movie, it was enthralling to watch. Its all about family, connection, and true feelings. Definitely a must watch.

Toma Ikuta & Erika Toda??? In one movie??? Hell yeah!

When I first watched this, I didn’t really expect much and I only watched this cuz I love both actors. Bruh, THIS MOVIE IS SO GOOD. I cried alot at the ending. Their friendship, compassion, and bruh, their suffering is so realistic I can’t. And WTF, the young boy is a half-Filipino??? uuugggghhhhh *ugly cries*.

Both Erika Toda & Toma Ikuta’s acting were on point (as always). Yes, I love this movie cuz of the 2 actors. But more cuz of the story. Its so moving and it sure hit me inside. It was hard to watch a different movie/series/anime after watching this movie, it made me think about my life, others, and everything around me. Its that deep bruh.

This is a recent release. I watched this movie earlier this year, and in no time, it became one of my favorite movies.

I didn’t know much of the story, the actors playing and how this movie would end. So basically, I watched this movie without any initial impression. Through that, I was able to immerse myself more to the story. The story hits me right to the feels. I love the characters and their interactions. The actors portraying the characters did well bringing them to life. This definitely made me want to read the novel and see the anime movie.

PS: Shun Oguri & Keiko Kitagawa in one freakin’ movie, and I didn’t f*ckin’ know any about this??? Woooooohhhh, it was a shocker seeing them in one screen. LOL.

Were you shocked by my list??? That’s understandable. That reaction can’t be helped. My list is, after all, all over the place. Hehehehehhe. Still, I recommend you to watch them. They are really good you know.

To make things exciting too, share to me your top japanese films too. I will check them out for sure. 🙂

Anyway, that is all.

Thanks for reading!!

Top 10 Anime Songs that made me a fan of the Artists

My love for Anime songs goes side by side with my love for Animes. Sometimes, the songs are too good for a mediocre anime. Other times, its the opposite. I don’t want to call it rare, but yeah, there are few that both were amazing. Its really the worst if it’s the opposite. Why am I talking about this? Well, I wanted to share to you a list of songs that I discovered through watching animes then I became a huge fan of the artists. The list is not that long, so stick around and also check them out. They all deserve all the LOVE. ❤ ❤

  1. Change the world – V6

Well, this is the first in the list cuz this song was my entry to everything. The moment I heard this song playing on the TV, I was hypnotized by it. I didn’t even freakin’ understand a single word and yet I stood there, feeling the song. The way the boy idol group sang the song resonated with me. This became my foundation with my love with idols. Not only for the j-idols but also for the k-idols too.

2. RE:I AM – Aimer

gundam unicorn aimer episode 6 theme song (6).jpg

I was marathoning the Gundam Unicorn Movies when out of nowhere I stumbled on this song. If I remember it correctly it was during the later half of the 6th movie when this song was played. I was literally blown away by the feels on the music, it added alot of emotion to the scenes. I even shed some tears, it was that moving. Since then, I became a fan of Aimer. I was really happy after I realized that she also did the ED for the 7th movie, StarRingChild, but it didn’t have the same effect on me compared to RE:I AM.

3. Thousand enemies – LiSA

Compared to other people, I wasn’t moved much with the opening or with Lia’s song (…I am sorry). Her songs are not my jam. But I was more moved with songs played in the band. Compared to the other entries on this list, I didn’t become a fan of the song immediately. It was around the time I listen to the complete Angel Beats OST when I discovered this song. LiSA’s vocals was really refreshing. It not really unique but there was something in her voice that keeps me on listening to her. Fast forward to now, I am now a huge fan of LiSA, and I always look forward to her anisong releases.

4. orange – 7!!

I think I’m not the only one who became a fan of 7!! after they released this song, orange. I mean, bruh, this song brings feels to a point you could cry a bucket of tears even just by listening to it. I especially love the acoustic version of this song cuz its much more raw.

5. Kimi no Nawa OST – Radwimps

This is not shocking bruh.

The whole OST is so amazing. At first I didn’t know that RADWIMPS were the one who did the OST for the movie, I think it was around the time when I bought the OST when I knew. Damn, they are so amazing. Since then, I couldn’t stop listen to their songs.

6. Sugar Song to Bitter Step – Unison Square Garden

One of my all time favorite anisongs of the recent years.

Usually, only the OP songs of the anime tend to get recognize but this song definitely changed the game. The OP of Kekkai Sensen was really good, but the ED, Sugar Song to Bitter Step, is so so good. After hearing this song, I immediately researched more about the band and listen to their songs. They are now one of my favorite bands in Japan.

7. only my railgun – fripSide

This anime is one of my all time favorites. One of the reasons why this became my favorite is the OST, specifically, the OP songs through out the series. The first OP left a big impression to me with its eargasms worthy music. Not only this song, but every anisong they released were eargasms worthy. Their music made me love the electric pop sound more.

8. Yasashisa no Riyuu – Choucho

This song is one of my most repeated songs on my music player. It always gives me good and positive vibes, which I usually need in my daily life. Through this song, I was able to discover Choucho and her amazing voice. Her voice is soothing in my ears. Every song she released is definitely an OK to me no matter what type of genre that song belongs to. Its all because of her voice. She’s amazing.

9. irony – ClariS

When I first heard this song, I immediately liked it. The voices of the artists and their harmony is quite unique at that time. Their voices were quite mature but at the same time, it was full of youthfulness. I didn’t know that the name of the artists was ClariS, I just thought it was another OP song that was sang by the Voice actresses of the anime. But I was so wrong.

I didn’t researched them immediately, it took me awhile before I checked them out. I think it was after I heard their voices a couple of times in OP’s and ED’s of different animes, when I decided to heavily researched about them and become a certified fan. Never regret it.

10. Kokoro no Tamago – Buono!

Ah, yes. This song. Of course.

Through this amazing song, I became a fan of Buono. This song is so catchy, especially the opening verse. That part got stuck on my mind for a long time. Another thing, Buono didn’t just do the infamous first OP of the series, but also some several amazing ED’s and OP’s through out the franchise. This song was my gateway to the world of Hello! Project. To a world until now I couldn’t escape from, and I’m very thankful for that. I am very thankful I discovered this anime. Even though the idol group is now gone, Kokoro no Tamago and Buono will always have a special place in my heart.

Uuuwwwaaaaaa…most of the songs above a god-tier amazing anisongs for me. I do hope you guys would check them out, especially the artists.

I also wanted to point out that making a top 10 list is hard. LOL. Maybe next time I might minimize the number, either 7 or 9…who knows.

Anyway, thats it for now!

MY TOP 5 FAVORITE ANIMES OF ALL TIME. (April Fools Day Special!)

Yes. Its been awhile since I had done this type of entry. To commemorate this special day, let me share to you my top 5 favorite animes of all time. I never shared this to anyone, even on my MAL. The list on my MAL are my “current”, they are not my “all time favorite”. Ha!

Without further ado, here’s my list: (in no particular order)

This was one of the short series that I sticked to me until this day. I could still remember every ‘beautiful’ and ‘touching’ scenes between the siblings. Each episode left me in awe, I even got ‘eyegasms’  after binge-watching it. Definitely worth a watch.

One of the ‘best’ harem romance anime I had seen in this lifetime. This anime represents what is a harem, and how it could change someone’s outlook in romance. I really really like that the guy actually got what he deserves in the end. A true ‘masterpiece’.

One of the best animes I had seen up to this date. Not one anime had surpassed the ‘awesomeness’ of this anime. I really really ‘like’ the story and its ‘progression’ even though it was one a short anime. The art and animation of this anime was also ‘phenomenal’, I couldn’t even believe this anime was released along side Eureka Seven, Eyeshield 21, Tsubasa Chronicles, etc. Its quality definitely was definitely ‘better’ than any animes around that time.

One of the best game adaptation anime I had seen. The animation and story was a lot ‘better’ than we get right now. I can’t believe people overlooked this anime. This was ‘amazing’. Its even ‘better’ than Trigger’s Inferno Cop, its that good, bruh.

One word, MASTERPIECE. This anime moved a lot of people. I really really like that people keeps on sharing this ‘amazing’ piece. This is one of the most notable animes, each anime fan knows about this anime and definitely they had seen this at least once in their life time. Each story arc of this anime series keeps on getting better. Its romance was the ‘best’ thing I had ever witnessed. The love scenes was very ‘phenomenal’ and ‘visually appealing’. I couldn’t even properly describe how much I ‘love’ this series. A definite must watch.

Now that you know my top 5 favorite animes of all times, let me know your thoughts about my lists. Maybe, too, you can share you ‘top 5 favorite animes of all time’.

That’s all for now.

Thanks for reading.

But seriously though…

Don’t tell me you actually believe that’s my top 5 favourite?

WTF man.

Hell no.

Over my dead body.

Thanks again for reading. 😉

My Top 5 “Guilty Pleasure” Animes

I am actually sharing this. I’m actually gonna share this. Damn. I’m crazy. Yeah, totally crazy.

I think after this post, I might hide in my own cave, I’m to embarrass to post more anime-related stuff. Lol.

Just kidding. I will never do that. I think.

The list below composed of animes that are ‘top-tier’ guilty pleasures of mine. I feel ashame for liking them, like for real. I know, from the bottom of my heart, how bad these animes are, but still, they also hold a place in my heart. Oh man, I’m so bad. For sure, some of you guys will try and watch them out of curiosity, then you guys will question my credibility & especially, my ‘taste’ in anime. I hope that day won’t come. XD

Let’s think positive, shall we!

Ah, before I share them, let me remind you that most of my content below touches the ecchi genre alot. So if you are not older than 16 years old….***PARENTAL GUIDANCE IS RECOMMENDED***

Okay, everyone. Here it goes.

KANON (2002 & 2006)

Let us start the list with the only not so bad anime, Kanon. If you guys would research more about this anime, Kanon has 2 version, both 2002 & 2006. Well, cuz Kyoto Animation was the studio for the 2006 version, the latter was more known to people.

As a young child, Aizawa Yuuichi had often visited his cousin in the city; however, something drastic happened to keep him away for seven long years. Now, Yuuichi returns, his memories of those days are simply gone.

Settling into the wintry town, Yuuichi comes across several young girls, all of whom are connected to his past. As he befriends them and continues to interact with them, the long forgotten memories from his childhood begin to resurface…

When I was still in middle school, Crunchyroll was still a ‘baby’, it offered quite a vast list of animes. If I remember it right, it was around 2007, both versions of Kanon were available in the site. I thought that it would be only right to start with the older version, so I watched Kanon 2002 version first.

73880l.jpgI didn’t know it was originally a visual novel, heck I didn’t even understand what visual novel was. I really really liked it. I cried, I laughed, I was also touched by the romance. To be honest, this series was the first ‘harem anime’ I had watched and I really really love it. Then the 2006 version, I was a mess. Everything was multiplied. My feels went overboard. The 2006 version had better quality than the older one, and it was much longer. The impact was really really….wow. I loved both shows to death. Even until now, I still experience a rollercoaster ride of emotions when watching the 2 animes.

Why is this here in my list? Well, this anime is bad. Its hard to understand. Even though Air is the worst Key anime, Kanon is the second one. The story was all over the place. There’s so much flaws and unanswered questions. The animation, is outdated. Oh boy, I could pinpoint all the wrong stuff of this series, but still, I love this from the bottom of my heart. ❤

PS: If someone would ask me what Key anime is the best, I would always answer Kanon. Fight me.

Yes, I love this anime. Why? Don’t ask me. I also don’t know why. XD

Compared to Kanon, I have no significant connection to this piece of ‘art’. Still, I treasure this anime up to this day.

While at school, Taniyama Mai and her friends like to exchange ghost stories. Apparently, there is an abandoned school building on their campus that is the center of many ghost stories. During the story, they are interrupted by a mysterious male figure. The person turns out to be Shibuya Kazuya, a 17-year-old who is president of the Shibuya Psychic Research Company. He was called by the principal to investigate the stories surrounding the abandoned school building.

The next day, on the way to school, Mai passes the school building in question. While examining a strange camera she spotted inside, she gets surprised by Kazuya’s assistant. Unknowingly interfering with the investigation, Mai breaks the camera and Kazuya’s assistant gets injured.

Kazuya forcefully hires Mai in order to pay for the camera and replace his injured assistant. From that point on, Mai begins to learn about the paranormal world and the profession of ghost hunting.

Ghost Hunt was a generic, bland, dull, horror supernatural anime. Yes, you read that right. Its a ‘horror supernatural’ anime. Even the famous anituber, Glass Reflection, pointed out how bad this series was and you shouldn’t watch this on Halloween. (LINK to his video)

I still dunno why I enjoyed the heck of this show. I’m still wondering why. I mean, this anime is too generic. The characters are really bland, but their interactions with each other was watchable and enjoyable. The story is kinda interesting, but it was executed badly. The supernatural events were funny and not scary at all. It’s so bad. All I know I love it, and I am embarrassed that I really really liked this one.

PS: I ship Kazuya and Mai…like…really hard. Uugggghhhh.. Its one of my frustrations that this series couldn’t even develop their relationship properly.

Oh, Dear Lord! Why am I sharing this?!?!?! Soul Link. I tried to hide this from the public. But now, I’m actually exposing this bad anime, and the fact that this is one of my guilty pleasure animes. Oh my, I’m so ashamed of myself.

Aizawa Ryota was in the 3rd grade of the preparatory course of Central Military Academy. AD 2045, he went to a space station, Aries, for the training with his classmates including Nagase Saka and Nittak Kazuhiko. However, the station was attacked by a terrorist group, Hallarax. Now they must find a way back to earth.

Please. To everyone reading this, don’t look up this anime, its not worth your time. I promise you.

Soul Link, how to describe this? Uuuhhh, it was mindblowing how bad this anime was. I was in highschool when I watched this for the first time. I could still remember watching it in my family’s internet cafe (My family used to own one). If you looked at the genres of this anime, its quite clear that this is not ecchi (duh, thats why I watched it). BUT! Out of nowhere, one of the lead female characters was naked….. I was so shocked I accidentally kicked the CPU of the PC I was using. It was so sudden. They even went deeper with the ecchi stuff. And the story, oh my, even until now I still don’t understand some aspects of it. Its still a mystery to me. I still don’t understand why the ****** happen, or why ******* did the things they did. Everytime I watch this show, I just don’t bother to understand it and just enjoy the trainwreck ride.

Sigh. As always. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!! I don’t regret watching this one. I love every bad thing about this anime. It made this series unique and also, unwatchable to other people. For sure if this anime was released in this era, I bet no one would be able to finish this. XD

Sigh. The more I talk about my guilty pleasure animes, the more I becoming ashamed of my ‘taste’ in anime.

Cross Ange. Cross Ange. Cross Ange. This one. Damn, I I’m actually sharing you guys this anime. I freakin’ love this show. Surprisingly, I love this more than the other 3 animes mentioned above (yeah, I know…more than Kanon…surprise surprise). Ha.ha.ha.ha. I’m insane.

The royal life of Princess Angelise Ikaruga Misurugi was as idyllic as the life of a sixteen-year-old princess could be. Beautiful, talented, athletic, loved by her people, and soon to be baptized in honor of her ascension to the throne of the Misurugi Empire, Angelise had everything. Even her kingdom was in a blissful age of peace and prosperity thanks to the utilization of an extremely advanced technology materialization force known as “mana.”

However, everything Angelise has come to know soon crashes to the ground around her after she is revealed to be a “norma,” a member of society resistant to the effects of mana and unable to use it herself. Just like the rest of the norma, Angelise is arrested and removed from society. Now she’s being forced to work as a soldier based out of the prison camp, Arzenal, and fly a transforming robotic vehicle called a “Paramail.”

To survive, Angelise will have to adapt to several different aspects of her new life in Cross Ange: Tenshi to Ryuu no Rondo, coping with prison society, relationships with other “norma” women, and piloting her Paramail against giant beasts known as DRAGONs. Will revenge be a great enough motive to encourage her to overcome these challenges? Or will the hate for those that betrayed her tear her apart in the process?

Don’t even try to ask me why I love this show. I just do. I can’t explain it. When I first saw this last 2014, I really thought I found a hidden gem amidst the ‘amazing top tier animes’ during that season. I followed this series. I watched this weekly, more than the Seven deadly sins, parasyte, yona of the dawn, fate series & etc. Do you understand?!?! I’m a hard core fan of this show. But this anime was really bad. So bad that its so good…..but only in my eyes.

The story is a mess. It shifts from one story to another, you get confused if your still watching the same show or not. Though it does gets better later on in the series. It also tried to go ‘full circle’ in the end, which was interesting to watch. At least they tried. The characters were, how to describe this, uuuhhhhh both likable & dislikable. Like, on some episodes you might like them, other times, you f*ckingly hate them. Yep. That much. They also tried to incorporate quite alot of genres. From Mecha to Action, to Sci-fi, to supernatural!?!?, they even added some yuri, drama, comedy, & romance elements to it. Ah! I almost forgot, ECCHI. Yes, Cross Ange wouldn’t be Cross Ange without ECCHI. Ha.ha.ha.ha. Can’t you see why I love this show?!?!? It has everything!! *Facepalm*

Oh my…this is the worst of all the worst guilty pleasure animes of mine. I enjoy watching Seikon no qwaser. Yeah. That anime that was full blown ecchi, borderline hentai anime. Totally not for kids.

At St. Mihailov Academy, a series of serial murders have taken place with all the victims being young women. Who is this rampant culprit? And which beautiful maiden will fall prey to his evil next?

After a horrible day of being harassed by their classmates, the adopted sisters Mafuyu Oribe and Tomo Yamanobe stumble across an injured young man and decide to bring him back to their place to recover. That very night, Mafuyu ends up at the mercy of the infamous serial killer. Strangely, he demands not her life, but instead an icon left behind by Tomo’s father.

Luckily, Sasha, the mysterious young man that the sisters had taken in, comes to the rescue just in time, helping Mafuyu avoid the same fate as the other victims. Sasha reveals that he is a Qwaser, an individual capable of controlling scientific elements by partaking in Soma, a miraculous essence found within the breasts of women. Capable of manipulating iron, Sasha crafts a giant scythe and slays the serial killer. He enrolls in the academy the next day signalling the beginning of a very “interesting” school year.

Seikon no Qwaser is an action-heavy story that doesn’t shy away from fan-service. Join Sasha and his allies as they fend off the evil that is nearing in.

Seikon no Qwaser anime is both action packed and filled with borderline hentai moments, its kinda hard to take this series seriously. I do admit, the fighting scenes were really good. I like how unique the powers of each Qwaser present in the anime. Just the ecchi & borderline hentai scenes that made this show both really good & really bad. When you watch this anime, you can see how serious and dire the scenarios the characters were involve in. You get engaged and sympathized to them….then the boob grabbing. Us, the viewers, can’t take everything seriously cuz of the sucking & squeezing of the boobs. Its not like I have any problems with it, I mean, this anime is my top & worst guilty pleasure anime after all.

And bruh, I’m only showing you gifs that are ‘mildly’ ecchi. We only scratched the surface level of how ecchi this anime goes.

After seeing this anime, I can’t helped but feel embarrassed, for the fact that I enjoyed watching this. I can’t even recommend this to anyone. I can’t even admit to anyone that I watched this. It’s tooooooo embarrassing, and yet, here we are, me…sharing this ‘masterpiece’…to you guys. Oh my.

Sigh. At last. I finished it!!!!

Forget everything I just shared to you above. I am definitely regretting the idea of sharing all of this to you guys. This is so embarrassing!!!

I’m trying not to regret sharing my top 5 guilty pleasure animes. Out of all the entries I made in this mini christmas project of mine, this last one was the most stressful. Lol. So….heed my request. DON’T WATCH THEM, FOR YOUR SAKE. *ehem*

5 Animes I recommend to the Newbies

We are almost done and Christmas is just around the corner. I’m not that excited to celebrate Christmas, but I do get nice feelings during the holidays so its okay.

Anyway, back to the main topic. I am now going to share to you a list of animes I would recommend to newbies in the anime fandom. My choices might be weird and indifferent to you, hahhahahah, but yeah, you’ll understand it later on when I explain why I chose them.

Anyway, without further ado, here is my lists of animes I would recommend as a starter pack to newbies in the anime fandom.

Yeah, I am adding this to my list. Now matter what the hate this anime got from the community, we can’t deny the fact that this is a good anime to recommend to the newbies. Why? Well, it had really up-to-date visuals and animation, good soundtrack, interesting premise, and ‘likable at first’ characters. If you are a newbie, you usually take in what you see on the surface level. That means, the newbies can overlook quite alot of the flaws of this ‘masterpiece’.

Even me, at first, overlooked all the flaws of this anime and enjoyed it until the very end. I watched it around the time I was coming back from my 2-3 year hiatus on anime, so seeing SAO for the first time amazed me. It felt really new and intriguing. It made me feel that I need to catch up more to the ‘modern animes’. Yeah, this anime is quite enjoyable and a really good gateway to the new babies of the fandom.

Oooohohohohoho. Of course I need to add this MASTERPIECE. This anime is a must watch you know. Gintama never fails. A newbie needs to know that anime could offer hilarious comedy shows too. This anime is a good start in watching more comedy animes in the future.

I do know that Gintama is pretty pretty long. Still, once you start watching it, you can’t stop. It’s that good. But the newbie still finds the Gintama scary and intimidating (cuz of the long long number of episodes), they can always watch Sket Dance as an alternative. In some ways, its quite similar to Gintama, a parody-type comedy with ‘only’ 77 episodes. Its set in highschool too. They can start either of the two, the end result is the same, for sure theyare going to laugh your ass off of the absurdity and ridiculousness of the jokes and skits of the two shows.

To be honest, I am not really sure if recommending Death note would be the right thing to do. But I once recommend it to a friend of mine who never watches anime (only the classic ones in the 90’s, when she was a kid), she really really liked this anime and now became a full pledged anime fan. Oooohohohoh.9453l.jpg

Death note is a type of series that could be liked by anyone, normies and otakus all over the world. Its one of the most well-known modern animes, especially after the epic fail Netflix movie adaption. It has a intriguing premise, likable characters, visual spectacle art & animation, and really really good soundtrack. It also has a really really good english dub, so its easy to share it to anybody.

I think that almost all the peepz in our (anime) community knows at thing or two about Death note. So if a newbie watched this, for sure, the newbie can pretty much have a proper conversation with alot of anime fans. Also, it also helps the newbie to be exposed to the fact that animes doesn’t only offer sprinkles of lightness and bright colors, and there also another side of animes that are really dark and gritty stories.

A starter pack is not complete if a list doesn’t have a shounen series. Shounen, after all, is the most widely known genre of anime. And rather than recommending the famous and well-known shounen animes like: Dragon Ball Z, Bleach, Naruto, and even Full metal Alchemist Brotherhood, I prefer to recommend the first anime adaptation of Full Metal Alchemist.

Oh my, Will! That’s a weird choice! I know right?!?!

Why would I recommend the old 2003 version of the series and not the ‘better’ version?? Well, because the 2003 version contains everything what a shounen anime was supposed to be. And the bigger reason was that you can’t appreciate how good Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood was if you haven’t watched the old 2003 version. Of course, all of this are all my opinion, if you disagree, I really don’t care, just leave you opinions on the comments section below. Lol. I won’t discuss anything further about this topic, I might make a full force post about FMA (2003) vs. FMA Brotherhood in the future, but now, our focus is the starter pack.

Like I said, Full Metal Alchemist anime contains all the good stuff about what is a shounen anime and for me, its a good starting point to watch more animes that are shounen in the future.

Last, but definitely not the least, A moe anime.

I’m adding a moe anime into the starter pack. Ha! Of course, I am going to add one. Moe animes are popular, trendy and each season there is always atleast one moe anime. So, to expose the newbie early on on what to expect in modern animes, let’s start to the anime that made the moe genre famous, K-On.

K-on isn’t the first ever moe anime, but its the anime that started the ‘craze’ for moe anime. Ever since the burst of popularity of K-On, more and more moe animes comes and go every season. Moe animes are animes that has ‘cute anime girls doing cute things’ type of trope. But what makes K-On different from its ‘successors’ would be the amazing development of the characters and how ‘realistic’ the high school setting of the show.

Oooohoohohh. My list is now complete. XD

If you have noticed, my list composed of different kinds of anime, ranging from different sides and genres of anime. The list above would be the initial list for recommendations to the newbies, but if I were to ask here and now what good animes should a person to watch, I usually asks for his/her preference. If that person wants to stick to his/her preferred genre of anime or he/she would want to try something new. Being a newbie in anime is quite intimidating and exciting all at the same time. So we need to help each other out.

Now you know my list of recommendations to the newbies. I wanna hear you thoughts on the matter. What would be your recommended list of animes to the newbies?? Please comment them down below.

Thanks for reading. 🙂
