12 Days of Anime: Animes to watch in 2019 (from my backlog)

Oh damn!!! It’s the last day of the 12 Days of Anime.

I made it through the project. Yeeee!!!!

For this last entry of mine. I will be sharing to you guys my initial list of animes I am going to watch next year, 2019, that are from my balcklog. Atleast that way, you will get an idea what I’ll be watching. Heh.

I know you guys might think why I should be too advanced or anything when 2019 is yet to come. Lol. Well, the thing is… most of the animes I’ll be watching in the first quarter of the year are animes from this year like HanebadoGoblin Slayer, Zombieland Saga, and others. So expect their reviews. Ooohohhoohoh.

Next on my list are some old animes I planned to watch this year but wasn’t able to:

  • Highschool of the Dead
  • Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou
  • Unbreakable Machine-Doll
  • Alice Academy
  • Gatekeepers
  • Haganai
  • and more….

I will also rewatch some franchises that has sequels on 2019:

  • To Aru Majutsu no Index
  • To Aru Kagaku no Railgun
  • Sword Art Online
  • Senki Zesshou Symphogear

I’ll also watch (at last) some classics that had been loved by alot of anime fans:

  • Cowboy Bebop
  • Clannad
  • Nichijou
  • Trigun
  • Ghost in the Shell

So many animes.

I’ll be honest with you, I’m still not sure if I could watch all of this by next year. 2019 is full of amazing animes and movies, so I might have a hard time watching stuffs from my backlog. I might also be working by January, so my watching time would be really affected. I’ll still be optimistic and make this a goal to at least watch the animes I planned. It’s the least I could do. Heh.

It’s the end of the 12DoA project, and damn…I actually finished it. Hahahahahh.

I still find it amazing that I was able to do this project along with other content creators in the anime community. I admit, I struggled alot. There were entries that supposed to be used for this project but I changed it in the last minute, which caused me to write something out of the blue and release something not so great. It was disappointing. My anxiety got the best of me.

Still, I learnt alot throughout this journey and I’ll definitely do my best next year.

Anyway, that’s it for now.

Thank you once again for reading!!

PS: Btw…this will be my last post for this year. I will be taking a short break and enjoy the holidays with my family. And I’ll also enjoy my remaining days as a NEET until 2019.

Again, Thank you everyone for everything this year.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

12 Days of Anime: Top 24 Favorite Animes of All Time

Yo! We are on the 2nd to the last day of the 12 Days of Anime annual project. I thought I should change some pace from the usual entries I make. Heh.

For this entry, I will be sharing to you an update to my top favorite animes of all time. I made a similar post last year, I think around the the I started this blog. It was a top 10, and it has alot of changes. To be at least different from the norm, I will be sharing my top 24 favorite animes of all time.

Why 24 you ask?

Well, One thing is today is December 24. Another reason is I’m already 24 years old, as of writing this entry. But the main reason of mine is I want to make something different. Usually, we see this kinds of list in 10s, 15, 20s, 50s, 100s…always in the house of 5. Lol. Also, 24 is one of my favorite number. This long list would definitely show you guys my wide variety of favs. Yes, you might find some notable animes on my list, but I do also have some interesting ones too. Ooohohhooh.

Anyway, I won’t prolong this any longer.

To begin, I’ll start from the bottom (#24), to the top (#01). I’ll also give some comments and my reasoning as to why they are in my fav list. Atleast you’ll know why I like them.

Oh boii…this is going to be long.

#24 The iDOLM@STER franchise

Hahahaha. I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect this one would make the cut. When I got introduced to the idol animes, I first liked Wake Up, Girls and then Love Live!, but it was this franchise, The iDOLM@STER, that made me love the idol genre as a whole. What I like about it is the semi-realistic portrayal of what an idol struggles in the entertainment industry. I admit, there were some exaggerated or too optimistic parts of the franchise, still, its the closest we could get. As a huge fan of 3D Idols for years, it makes me happy to see this kinds of animes too. Unfortunately, this anime is not on the top of my list because compared to Love Live’s music, this franchise is lacking alot impact. Lel.

#23 Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata

Well, there is only one reason why this anime is on my list. It is because of best girl, Kato Megumi. That’s all.

#22 JoJo’s Bizarre Adeventure

You guys must be disappointed seeing Jojo here in the lower end of my list. Don’t get me wrong, I love Jojo. I really do. But I haven’t been watching any Jojo lately. The last time was like…2 years ago? I will try and make up for it now that I have a copy of Diamond is Unbreakable BD. For sure, this anime will climb up to the top. Ooohohhoho.

#21 Fate/kaleid liner prisma Illya

Even though I am not a fan of the Fate series or even tried to start watching it, I pretty much know the basic knowledge of the Fate franchise. So yeeeee!! Watching this anime was entertaining. Not even a single season was disappointing to me. I mean, it has yuri, action, comedy, drama, you name it! I really love this show.

#20 Mobile Suit Gundam 00

Out of all the gundam animes I had watched (not part of UC), Gundam 00 is the best out there. It had everything I looked for for a mecha series. The last time I watched this one was like years ago, but I can still feel the intensity and my amazement of this series. For sure, if ever I rewatch this one, it will climb up on my list.

#19 Full Metal Panic franchise

Yeeeee!! After I revisit the franchise, I got reminded as to why I love this series in the first place. It had everything I wanted from an anime and it can’t be replicated.

#18 Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu

This franchise was phenomenal. It literally changed my life. I first watch this one, alongside Death note and for some point, I was more in awe by how crazy this anime was over Death note. Lol. This anime was one of the reasons I stayed an anime fan. And the movie sequel was one of the best that was ever made.

#17 Slow Start

Ooohohohoh… A new anime. Yep. I didn’t expect this anime would be this high on my list, but it deserves it. The amount of feels I got from watching this show is unreplaceable, and those feels will remain in my heart.

#16 Sket Dance

One of the animes I watched after my depression and this anime saved me. Every single episode was a blast, and its really really funny. This anime helped me alot during my transition days, and until now, I still love this anime very much. I know peepz would think that this anime is a tone down version or a school life version of Gintama, and i should watch the latter instead. I will get eventually to it, but now, I totally appreciate this gem.

#15 Psycho Pass

I think everyone knows how awesome Psycho pass is. When I first watched this few years ago, I was blown away by it. From its dystopian world to its justic system, it was everything I didn’t expect I needed from an anime. With the 3 movies coming, I might give this one a rewatch and i might fell in love again with this franchise. And yes, I also do appreciate the 2nd season. Lel.

#14 A place further than the Universe

Another new anime. Yep.

My review of this isn’t out yet, so I can’t really say much about it here. Just know that the level of feels I got from this series is through the roof. This anime is amazing, and it deserves alot of praise for an original story. I…just love this series.

#13 To Aru Majutsu no Index

I’ll be honest, this anime was supposed to be on the bottom of my list, but I recently rewatched it cuz of the revival of the franchise. It also revived my love for this series. I have plans on releasing a review, so I won’t be spilling much of feels. I guess, I just love the spin-off better compared to this one because its story is alot more linear. There is still a chance for this one to rise up in the list, after all, I just finished the S1 and will proceed on the next seasons.

#12 Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru

Who doesn’t love Oregairu. When I first saw this anime, I immediately got hooked with it and even tried to read the source materials. I love the story, the characters, their personalities, their dialogues, and everything about the series. It’s just…I haven’t seen this one in a while, so it can’t be helped that this one dropped in ranks.

#11 Baby Steps

One of the best sports animes I had ever seen. I, myself, is a tennis player so this anime is so dear to me. It portrayed the sport, tennis, in the most realistic view, which made me so happy.

#10 Koe no Katachi

This movie moved me very much and is very dear to me. I relate heavily to its themes and what the characters had gone through. Watching this movie was like a rollercoaster of emotions, and I never felt liked that in any kind of movie.

#09 Card Captor Sakura

This anime used to be my number 2 in this list. Believe me, I am a die-hard CCS fan. I LOVE THE SERIES TO DEATH. But like the other animes on my list, its been awhile since I had seen CCS, though I do have plans on rewatching it, along with the movies, now that I acquired a BD copy of the 2nd season.

#08 Soukyuu no Fafner

Oohohoh… One of the stable fav animes on my list.

This is a mecha anime franchise that I love very much. This was definitely imperfect in alot of ways. But there was something in this anime that I can’t find in other mecha animes. I had invested alot of emotions to this series, and I don’t think there would be any other mecha anime that could top this one.

#07 Senki Zesshou Symphogear

Another stable fav anime.

This anime is like no other. This was something I didn’t expect I would love very much. It not only have girls fighting the hell out of each other, they also sing at the same time. The action is amazing and in every season, it keeps on getting better and better. I just love this series.

#06 Hyouka

I adore this anime very much. All the characters are really likeable, and their development all through out the series was outstanding. The overall visuals of this series was also amazing. But my main reason for loving this anime is definitely Hiroki x Chitanda ship. That’s it. XD

#05 K-On

I don’t think this anime would ever leave my top 10. My love for K-On is endless. Yes, its the one that introduced me to the MOE genre, and it is a cute girls doing cute things anime. But I don’t care, I love everything about this series and I won’t stop loving this anime til’ the end of time.

#04 Violet Evergarden

The last new entry to my list. Being the top best anime of this year, what more should I show to you guys how much I love this anime?

Its the feels, man. Its the feels.

#03 Hibike Euphonium

I have no words to describe how much I love this anime. To be honest, I really thought K-On would be my all time favorite Kyo-Ani anime, but this anime is on a different level. From the characters, to its story and how everything was delivered… its like no other anime out there.

#02 To Aru Kagaku no Railgun

With me watching the Railgun right now, totally expected this would be in number 2. Like I said, this spin-off is soooo much better than the Index. But my overall reason for LOVING this anime very hard is my BEST GURL, Misaka Mikoto.

#01 Detective Conan

Oh boooiiii… Still in number one, huh.

Detective Conan had been my fav since…uuuhhh… I was young. I just love this series. From the episodic episodes to the epic movies, I can’t stop loving this show. No matter what, this is my number 1.

That was long.

Well, as you can see from my list, my taste is pretty mediocre. My list is not amazing like any out there, but yeah, just deal with it. Heh.

You might have noticed the abundance of Kyo-Ani animes on my list, especially most of them are high ranking, well, Kyo-Ani is my favorite studio so its a no biggie that I love love love love their works.

Well, I admit, I didn’t expect my list would turn out to be like this. Alot of animes got low ranks just because I haven’t seen them in a long time. And some are new entries, and other had risen up big time. After all, this list represents 2018. We will see if this list would change drastically by 2019. Hehehhehe.

Anyway, thanks for checking this long post of mine.

Feel free to comment about my list down below.

Thanks for reading!!

12 Days of Anime: Aggretsuko, Wotakoi and Adulting

If there was one thing that Aggretsuko and Wotakoi had in common, that would be the realistic portrayal of working men and women. Though, they are not really the same, with Wotakoi more focused on the otaku side while Aggretsuko on the harsher side of working, I still consider both as really good examples of what its like to be part of the workforce.

Well, I can’t really comment much about this, after all, I haven’t had a legit job yet. Like, I’m still on the applying stage. Heh.

Still, these two animes left a huge impression to me. It made me excited and at the same time, scared to become an adult. Excited in related to Wotakoi, being able to meet workmates who happened to have the same interests and maybe, romance too. Then fear, maybe I might experience everything that had happen in Aggretsuko. I think I mentioned this before on my review, but in some ways, I have the same personality with Retsuko. The bully she got in the office, was somewhat similar to what I experienced when I was in highschool and college, and bruh, I don’t want that in my work too.

But I think, I can’t really know until I became one. A full fledged working woman.

It is scary as hell, but I guess I can’t escape it.

Afterall, we all need to grow up and become adults.

I just hope I won’t lose my child-like personality in me.

This one was really short. Oh damn. I guess I just want to share this, especially now that I’m currently applying and venturing for job opportunities.

Adulting is something I am excited and scared for, but I still need to face it and move forward.

Anyway, that’s it for now.

12 Days of Anime: Slice of Life animes are literally giving me Life

I had been very open here on my blog about my love for Slice of life animes since the very beginning of my blog. It is that type of genre that never once failed to give me feels and enjoyment.

If you had been reading my entries these past 12DoA’s, then you know that I pretty much didn’t watch most of my “planned” animes, like ecchi and yuri animes. That’s because I wasted my time to cater my craving for Slice of life animes. I do regret not watching my other fav genres of animes, but the Slice of life animes gave something to me that is irreplaceable. To be honest, I can’t really explain it much, but if I try to put it into words…

Slice of life literally gives me life and push me to move forward.

Alot of stuff happened to me this year. I got a job in the first quarter of the year, but then I went back to being a NEET for the rest of the year while reviewing for my licensure exam. I was literally high on emotions all through out 2018. One of the reasons that kept me afloat and sane are the sootheness of Slice of life animes, especially the moe ones. These animes never fails to make me smile, and give me lighthearted feels like no other. And that makes me so happy.

Another thing about Slice of Life animes are their relatable moments. Even though most of the scenarios and storylines doesn’t really match up with real life, its the main points and message that comforts me. Like in Violet Evergarden, we learnt what love is because it was taught to us and we also see it through the visual presentation and stories we read. But Violet never had that, so in her journey in learning what love is, we also get to learn and understand along with her. Another example is a SoL animes I haven’t released my review yet, Hanasaku Iroha. In that anime, it showed us how life would throw alot of curveball to us, making us go ut of our comfort zones and not know what to do. Still, we need to work hard, grow, learn, persevere and have a purpose.

It’s these types of anime that makes me feel comforted and gives me boost to try again, to stand up against my own endeavors in my own mudane life. I know I’m emphasizing Slice of life animes too much, after all, you can also get these stuff from other animes too. But, I guess, SoL animes affected me the most. We all have different preferences, and I think, right now, I’m very much into Slice of Live animes. Heh.

But believe me, watching SoL animes consecutively might not be a good idea. Its at that time you would feel bored and to a point, might dislike SoL animes. So I suggest to vary the genres as much as possible. That’s what I do, though I failed horribly with ecchi animes and yuri, I won’t make this mistake again next year.

Anyway, that’s it for now.

12 Days of Anime: I need more Yuri!!!

This year had been a blessing to the Yuri fandom. Alot of prominent Yuri mangas got an anime adaptation, and were done right! And….yes, including Citrus.

With the amazing reception of Bloom into you and the appreciated Asagao to Kase-san, what more can I ask for as a yuri fan?? Well, of course…MORE YURI.

Yep, more yuri.

I still need more.

Not just in anime, but also in manga.

Right now, most of the yuri mangas are either one-shots or are really short. I want to be able to have another heart wrenching Bloom into you, or Girl friends to enjoy reading. Even for extreme like NTR and Citrus, I’ll even accept them. -_-

Right now, I get alot of yuri feels from the Korean and Chinese mangas. They are full of ugggghhhh…and yeeeeeee!! I can’t stop myself from enjoying them. But with the China gov’t trying to prohibit the publishing of yuri and yaoi, I’ll be in despair!

I just need more yuri manga content.

That way, I might be able to live with it.

give me more!!

move on.

For anime, we have a handful of yuri animes. Let us not including the yuri-bait ones, they are too many and very manipulative. As much as I freakin’ love them, the ships in those animes are not CANON so don’t me. Let’s focus on the full fledged yuri animes, they are only few.

Yep, only few. That means I might’ve watched them all already.

Why? I don’t know too.

For this year, the only yuri anime I was the Asagao to Kase-san OVA. That’s it.

I haven’t touched the NTR, Citrus, or even my favorite, Bloom into you. Even the yuri animes on my backlog, other than the few notable ones (Sakura trick, Flip flappers, and some…), I haven’t seen most of the yuri animes.

I’m stupid, right?

I know… I know. Just like the ecchi animes, I hadn’t been a good fan. Compared to the ecchi anime situation, I actually don’t know the reason as to why I haven’t watched the yuri animes yet. I’m such a failure of a fan.

But of course, with a new year coming, I can still turn the tides of fate. I will watch alot of yuri animes. I promise you that.

I don’t when exactly, but I will make sure of it.

I will not taint again my reputation as an avid yuri fan.

That was…messy.

I didn’t really thought much about this entry and just went with it. I just want to let my feels out. Heh.

Anyway, that’s it for now.

Thanks for reading!!

12 Days of Anime: Watching seasonal animes is a hassle

It was around the time I got into university and studied Psychology when I first learnt about the existence of “seasonal animes”. At that time, illegal anime sites were the predominant place to hang out and watch animes. Before, I only watch animes I had chosen from my backlog and binge them, I didn’t know that I can watch the ongoing animes weekly.

Since then, I watch all the anime episodes every week. I enjoyed it. It was through it too when I started connecting with my fellow anime lovers online by chatting with them, ranting with them, and theorizing about the seasonal animes. It made me feel like I’m part of a big community where I can express my love for anime. It made me feel fulfilled and was “in” with everyone.

This year, alot had changed.

Around the first quarter of the year, I got hired to a job which hindered my watching of weekly animes. I can’t keep up with the schedules anymore and just binging the episodes whenever I have time. Well, I’ve done this before whenever I get busy with school, but it’s literally worse this year. Before, I could watch most of the animes weekly, then the rest are on binge. But on the first quarter of the year, I could only watch Violet evergarden weekly. The rest…well, they got binged whenever I have time. Not only that, I started wathcing more and more backlog animes as I enjoy them more over the seasonal ones.

I did regain my watching schedule after I quit my job to focus on my review for boards. I thought I would go back to my old ways and continue watching weekly. But I didn’t.

I got even more into binging animes from my backlog, especially now that most of my backlog animes are in BD/DVD. Which means, I can enjoy and criticize them in their fullest form. Because of this, I drift further and further away from seasonal animes.

Around the summer season, I wasn’t watching seasonal animes weekly anymore. I pretty much binge the episodes whenever I have time. That’s why most of my anime reviews for summer animes are lacking effort, cuz I breezed through all of them and make the reviews.

You guys might be thinking now that maybe its the animes fault. Maybe they are mostly meh to me that’s why I prefer to watch the animes on my backlog.

Nope, you’re wrong.

It’s actually because I got fed up with watching animes weekly. I can’t stand waiting for the new episode to arrive. The wait is always a struggle, and I don’t think I could handle it. I prefer binging now over weekly animes. That way, I won’t struggle and I can immediately process everything about the anime.

Yes, not watching weekly has demerits too. Spoilers are all over my social media, I can’t escape it. I also not anymore updated to the trends and hypes in the community, though, I do prefer being the deviant one. Lol.

Still, I don’t think I could go back to my old ways and continue watching weekly animes. Maybe, I might change my mind next year (though that highly unlikely), right now, I’m just focused on watching the animes on my backlog.

Afterall, I still have sooooo many amazing animes in my PTW list…

and I feel like I really need to watch them.

I think I made this post abit serious….I guess. I dunno.

Anyway, feel free to share your thoughts about seasonal animes. Do you watch it weekly too? Or do you prefer binging? There is no wrong answer so…yeah.

That’s it for now.

Thanks for reading!!

12 Days of Anime: Not Enough Ecchi Animes

I had read alot of aniblogger’s posts about their famous search terms on their blog. Alot of them were quite amusing, but most of them…are pretty much similar to mine.

It all boils down to one specific genre of anime where viewers keep on searching about.

Screen Shot 2018-12-17 at 00.14.22.png

Look at that.

Look at that!!!

The list goes on and on and on. I just cut it cuz of space. Heh.

But you get it, right?

Almost everyday, since the start of this year, people keep on searching ECCHI here on my blog in different words and phrases. It’s outstanding. I can’t believe so many viewers are that horny!!

I think it was around June when I thought that I should at least repay these horny bastards by giving what they want. Ecchi animes.

here we are…

nearing the end of 2018…

barely posting about ecchi animes.

I’m so sorry. I wasn’t able to watch and make reviews about ecchi animes. I wasn’t able to deliver what you guys wanted. I got caught up with all my reviewing for my boards and chose to watch only those animes that I know won’t “corrupt’ me. I thought I still have time after exams to watch it but…..I FORGOT!! Rather I watched alot of animes from my backlog.

I’m so sorry.

Don’t fret.

Definitely next year, I’ll make sure to watch alot of ecchi animes. I promise!!

A snippet of my backlog list, I am planning on (re)watching Highschool of the DeadMasou Gakuen HxHMakenkiTriage X, Ichiban Ushiro no DaimaouDakara Boku wa H ga Dekinai, and other recent ecchi animes.

I’m not really sure when I’ll be able to watch them, but believe me, reviews about them are coming. I will please my audience and myself. Heh.

Day 8 of the 12DoA annual chirstmas project, and we’re halfway to the finish line. Damn, time goes by pretty fast these days.

I know this entry was kinda short compared to its previous entries. Still, I enjoyed making it. Heh.

Anyway, that’s it for now.

Thanks for reading!!
